PRESIDENT: Kenny Kanode

Kenny is a computer technician for Bedford County Public Schools. After working on computers five days a week you will most likely find him in the saddle on the weekends. Kenny has this to say about himself:

Horses have always been a big part of my growing up. I grew up in the days of  TV shows like the "Lone Ranger,"  "Furry," and "My Friend Flicka." I always wanted to be a cowboy and as a young boy spent numerous hours riding the range on my trusted spring rocking horse. I will never forget my sixth or seventh Christmas when I got a full cowboy outfit. It was complete with jeans, western shirt, boots, bandana, cowboy hat, and dual six shooters in a black holster. I am amazed that although sometimes I can't remember what I ate for dinner yesterday that after forty years the memory of that Christmas is still so vivid in my mind.

SECRETARY: Cindy Kanode

Cindy  grew up in Bedford County and was a graduate of  Liberty High School. After getting married she moved to Lynchburg  and lived there for about 10 years before her and her family relocated back to the Bedford/Thaxton  area of VA. Cindy is now employed by  the Bedford County Registrar's office.

She was not very excited to hear that her husband Kenny was about to get involved with horses again after 16 years. Her displeasure was partly because of the expense, and partly because of the time it would take him away from home. So just to keep peace in the family Kenny did the only thing that made sense...he bought her a horse.
